Mio Akiyama

Remember, this is just a summarization. For the full information go to the links posted on Ritsu and Yui's info.

Mio is one of the main characters of K-On and also a member of Hokago Tea Time. She plays a left-handed, 3-Color Sunburst Fender Jazz Bass with a tortoiseshell pickguard, but is shown playing a Fender Precision Bass in the first manga volume. She decided on joining the literary club at first, but is forced into the Light Music Club by her childhood friend Ritsu, who is also the club president and drummer of the club. She gets excellent grades in school but has much trouble listening to stories involving pain, horror etc. While she can be strict and mature, she is easily embarrassed and is the usual subject of teasing from Ritsu and Sawako who is their club adviser and eventual 3rd-year homeroom teacher. She chose the bass because she states that it's not the center of attention in the band, unlike the guitarist.

Ritsu Tainaka

This is just a summarization. For the full information go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K-On

Ritsu Tainaka is another of the main characters of K-On and member of the After School Tea Time. She proclaims herself as the club president since she and Mio brought back the Light Music Club. She plays a yellow Rick Marotta Signature Yamaha Hipgig drum kit with an add-on floor tom in the opening credits combined with a cymbal set from Avedis Zildjian. On the closing credits, she is seen playing a white Yamaha Absolute Series drum kit. She has an ambiguous yet upbeat personality yet she has trouble remembering important club activites and announcements, resulting to getting yelled at by Mio and Nodoka for forgetting to send in important forms concerning the club. Ritsu is cheerful and likes making jokes and being sarcastic most of the time. She usually brainstorms for ideas to earn money and for the club's success. She chose to play the drums because they're "cool" but later admits that she has trouble playing instruments involving intricate finger movement such as the bass, guitar and keyboard.

Yui Hirasawa

This is just a summarization. For the full information go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K-On

Yui Hirasawa is one of the main characters of K-On and a member of the After School Tea Time or Hokago Tea Time. She plays a Heritage Cherry Sunburst Gibson Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar, nicknamed Giita. She doesn't get very good grades in school but when properly coached, she can recieve outstanding results. She is usually distracted by trivialities (mainly those that are cute and adorable). She is clumsy and spaces out at times. Yui loves a lot of food, and she practically never gains weight which is envied by Mio, Mugi, and Sawako. She has a younger sister named Ui who is mature and down-to-earth. Ui takes care of her and keeps her in line. Yui works extremely hard to get better at playing the guitar. During performances, Yui plays with amazing energy and joy which usually results to great response from the audience.
