She plays a Heritage Cherry Sunburst Gibson Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar, nicknamed Giita. She doesn't get very good grades in school but when properly coached, she can recieve outstanding results. She is usually distracted by trivialities (mainly those that are cute and adorable). She is clumsy and spaces out at times. Yui loves a lot of food, and she practically never gains weight which is envied by Mio, Mugi, and Sawako. She has a younger sister named Ui who is mature and down-to-earth. Ui takes care of her and keeps her in line. Yui works extremely hard to get better at playing the guitar. During performances, Yui plays with amazing energy and joy which usually results to great response from the audience.
